USFA e-Letter: MoA 1 – Implementation of 2007-09 Collective Agreement
As has been reported at general meetings, we have had a disagreement with the employer about transition to the salary structure negotiated for the 2007-09 Collective Agreement. While reviewing transition calculations, we found that some USFA members were incorrectly transitioned to the new salary system. If you received a bonus to base salary adjustment on July 1, 2005, that amount should have been subtracted from the salary figure used to establish your CDI count in the new system. It appears that the bonus to base for ranks other than Professor was not disaggregated.
It appears that this will only affect Associate Professors who were not yet at the salary ceiling for the rank on June 30, 2007; however, we would encourage all members to check the calculation for transitioning to the new salary system.
This has been brought to the attention of the employer who has agreed to make the necessary corrections.
Feel free to contact the USFA office if you have questions.
