Mar 9: Bargaining Update

The Executive Committee sincerely regrets that the Employer has sent out misleading information about the situation at the negotiating table, and has made statements to the local press that undermine the collective bargaining process.

As we stated in the meeting on March 3, significant progress was made in the previous week but there were still issues to be negotiated and finalized. We are fully committed to the bargaining process and have NOT walked away. We made our willingness to continue negotiations very clear to the Employer. We still believe that significant progress has been made and that with continued negotiations we will be able to address the outstanding issues. We have NOT added new items to the agenda we are only negotiating on those items that remain outstanding.

Negotiations are scheduled for Wednesday, March 14, and we call upon the employer to return to the table to continue collective bargaining. The Executive Committee will be meeting Tuesday afternoon to review the latest offer and to provide input to our negotiating team.
