Today, the Negotiating Teams for the USFA and Employer signed off on a tentative agreement for the period July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014 (attached). The agreement provides for an extension to the terms of the current collective agreement with a 1% scale increase to all salaries and salary scales, plus the introduction of a 19th CDI available to Full professors and the introduction of a 1 CDI overlap ceiling to the Assistant and Associate professor ranks. The same changes have been applied to the Librarian ranks (i.e., a 25th increment to Librarian IV, and a 1 CDI overlap ceiling for Librarians I, II, & III). An additional CDI has been added to the ranks of Instructor and Lecturer as well. Negotiations for the next agreement (i.e., July 1, 2014) will begin immediately with opening discussions concentrating on retirement incentives, including the Reduced Appointment Plan, and clarification of the processes mandated through Article 29 (Layoff and Severance). A ratification meeting will be scheduled once the Executive committee has reviewed the proposal.
